EOs and Cats

by | Jun 20, 2011

In our FIRST Wisdom of the Earth (WOTE) quarterly print newsletter (Where does the time go? I am working this week on our 44th issue!!), we told the story of MacKenzie, a 5 year old Persian cat who experienced a stroke, rendering her unable to walk, and her head cocked to one side.

Amy, her owner, was one of our students, and wasn’t willing to accept the pronouncements of the vet, who said that it would take months for the cat to recover…if she recovered at all…and that she might have more strokes. He then prescribed antibiotics. Amy called Barry, my business partner, who treated MacKenzie with Rose, Ylang Ylang, Juniper Berry, Frankincense and Sandalwood. Within 24 hours, the cat could walk down the steps, regained her balance, and began to eat on her own. She never experienced another stroke.

We also had a student whose cat was struck by a rattlesnake. Bouyed by one of my blog posts, where I discussed treating a diseased chicken of mine with Lavender, she doused the cat with our WOTE Lavender and wrote to tell me that, although the cat initially lost most of her fur and some of her skin from the effects of the snake venom, she lived!

These are but two of the dozens of stories I could tell about successfully treating cats with essential oils. If you have had any experiences–good or bad–with cats and EOs…I would love to hear from you!

So…the moral of the stories is, like virtually every other living thing on this Planet Earth, cats can benefit from the healing power of pure, natural plant & tree medicines.
