Level 1 Medicinal Aromatherapy Certification Class
January 16-17, 2010
March 13-14, 2010
May 22-23, 2010
The Wisdom of the Earth Level 1 Certification Seminar in Medicinal Aromatherapy will be offered at my home in Nambe, NM (about 20 min. north of Santa Fe). The fee for the class is $475, with a $25 discount if you register 30 days before the class date.
NOTE: Since I recently changed the date for the January offering, I will extend the early registration period until the end of December.
There is information about the class on my site, ShiningSunAromatherapy.com, but perhaps what others say about their experience will be more helpful:
"I debated and debated about whether now was the time for me to explore my love of aromatherapy in a more formal way. After taking the "leap" to attend your Level 1 class, I can't even remember what the debate was about! I have learned that my connection to the natural world is deep within my being, and that all I really need to be healthy and balanced can be found in the Plant & Tree Kingdoms. The essences are powerful allies, and I honestly don't know what I would do without them."
-- Level 1 Student (NC)
"I received my certificate of completion for the Level 1 Training today, and was so touched by your letters of support and welcome. How very kind of you! I was very moved by your heart-felt care and affirmation.
Again, thank you for welcoming me into your special family and for sharing your passion and these incredible gifts of nature with me."
-- Level 1 Student (NM)
Pure medicinal essences complement literally any other healing modality, and many of our students come from practices such as yoga, hypnotherapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, energy healing and traditional medicine (physicians, nurses and physical therapists).
Others wish to learn more so that they are prepared to be more "self-sustaining", as one woman put it, in terms of her own health, and the health and well-being of her family. I hope you can join us at one of these life-changing seminars.
Wisdom of the Earth to be featured on the World Puja Network
I am excited to announce that I will be co-hosting a ten week radio show, with my business partner, Barry Kapp, and his wife, Cynthia Olivera de Kapp, beginning January 5th, 2010 on www.WorldPuja.org.
Called "Wisdom of the Earth", the hour-long radio show will focus on how Medicinal Aromatherapy, as the original medicine of the planet, interfaces with all aspects of relationship known to us on Earth.
We will discuss physical, emotional and spiritual healing with pure plant and tree essences, and will also explore topics such as Love versus Fear, Vulnerability and Surrender, and Authenticity, all within the context of Medicinal Aromatherapy. The show will air at 6 pm Pacific Time (you can access it via the above noted website) on Tuesdays, and all radio shows are archived for 12 months on the site for listeners who miss the broadcast.
I invite you to join us in a special and unconventional journey with the plants and trees -- our guides to the healing power of the natural world.
Featured Article: Spiritual and Emotional Uses of your Aromatherapy Aresenal
In the last issue of "Love Notes", I offered a suggested list of essential oils that I considered to be "must haves" -- essences that would address a broad range of issues and needs, and would serve you well, no matter what might come your way!
I focused primarily on the physical needs this group of essences would address, and promised to explore some of their emotional and spiritual uses this time around. So...here we go!
Basil (Sweet or True)
Brings us to the truth of our stories...helping us to see those which continue to serve us and guide us on our Path, and those which are no longer who we truly are (or aspire to be). Basil helps us to access cellular memory, as well as ancient memories of past lives.
Birch, Sweet
A clarifier of values and boundaries, Birch helps us to resonate with those things that truly speak to our authentic self, and say no to those things which are not for our highest and best good.
Cardamon Seed (Green)
Helps us to move through difficult times, keeping our eye on the prize to be had through the experience...Freedom? Clarity? Compassion? Understanding? Insight? You will know when it is yours. Keeps the heart's wisdom at the center of our decision-making.
Cedarwood (Himalayan)
Like Nature's "Refresh" button, Cedarwood gives new life when you feel like you can't go on. She helps us tap into our life force, shaking off the wet blanket of fear or doubt.
Cumin, Black
Helps you to think and act for yourself and shed the confines of conformity. Can also help with obsessive compulsive disorder, IF you are clear and focused on your desire to release yourself from that self-imposed, mental prison.
Davana
She brings all that is good and enlightening from the Goddess. Picture a heart shining with the light of love, arms outstretched to comfort and support...that is Davana.
Eucalyptus (Blue Mallee - Cryptone type)
Basically a "don't sweat the small stuff" in a bottle, she helps you to see that mis-steps are a part of life and learning, and set-backs are just hesitations in the flow of your journey. She allows you to see these things in the larger context of purpose and importance, so that you can pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get on with the business and passion of your life.
Fir, Balsam
Takes confusion, fogginess and lack of direction and grounds them (gives them to Mother Earth). She sends back the energies of clarity, purpose and focus to get us back on track.
Frankincense
Ancient guide to forgiveness. She helps us to see that those who may have slighted us, hurt us, betrayed us, etc. are living our their stories...they do not have to be players in ours, unless we want them to be.
Geranium
A strong supporter of humans going through transition. She brings perspective, trust and strength, seeing us through storms and upheaval.
Laurel Leaf
I often call her Spiritual Backbone, because she gives us courage and helps us find our voice...our true voice. She supports us in expressing our truth in a way that does not deny another's truth, but she also does not allow us to deny our own truth or see it as "less than" someone's else's. She gives us back our respect for ourself, if we have lost it, or allowed another to take it from us.
Lavender, Fine
Helps us to see all the levels, types and faces of LOVE. She opens our eyes to the importance of self-love.
Lavender, Spike
Helps us to clarify and magnify our intention by clearing out emotional debris that interferes with receiving higher guidance. Also supports the balance between giving and receiving in our lifes.
Lime, Mexican
Reminds us of the sweetness and joy of life; brings out our "inner child" and also heals our inner child if he or she has been wounded.
Myrrh
Literally can make time stand still...have you ever undertaken a task, and felt that time passed more slowly, allowing you to finish with time to spare? Myrrh also takes us to the place of timeless healing -- past, present and future.
Niaouli
Takes us out of a "lack" or "holding on" mentality to a place of free flowing abundance. While we won't throw "prudence" out of the window, nor should we hold on to (with hold??) things like love, money, emotion, kind words, gratitude when they are ours to give graciously.
Orange, Blood Red
Reminds us that pleasure is the honey (sweetener) of life. Are you denying yourself that which is pleasurable to you? Give yourself the gift of enjoyment and pleasure...it will do you good!
Peppermint (US)
Emotionally, Peppermint brings a fresh perspective to old issues or problems. She helps us develop a new take on life...one which allows us to solve things creatively and imaginatively and one which opens doors to new possibilities. Say YES to something you have been saying NO to...and see where it takes you!
Pine, White
She opens our crown chakra to the wisdom of the ages, and the enlightenment of the angelic realm. She grounds us in Mother Earth, allowing all of that wisdom and enlightment to percolate through our being (emotional and spiritual being) and influence our life.
Rosemary (cineole)
Remember the saying "Let Go and Let God"? Rosemary reminds us that we don't always have to know HOW something is going to happen to desire it. She reminds us that it is OUR job to be clear on what our purpose in life is and that the Universe can take over the incredibly complex (for us) task of letting life unfold in the direction of that purpose.
Sage, True
A true purifier, Sage helps us to sort out what is unnecessary in our emotional life, allowing us to focus on what is really important and what really feeds (supports) our passion. Think of all of those little emotional upsets as diversions...taking our emotional energy away from the purpose of living our passion.
Spikenard
Spikenard increases our "receptive awareness"...facilitating our ability to tune into the messages and energies of the unseen world. Turn your dial to Spikenard, invite in the wisdom of the ages, and fasten your seatbelt.
Vetiver
Her calming, grounding, soothing energy allows us to feel safe in our physical body. She also honors the incredible miracle that IS our physical body...not believing that your must transcend it to achieve enlightenment.
Violet
Violet offers protection from fear, offering safety in her high vibration, lavender light. She reminds us gently, but convincingly, that everything is unfolding exactly as it should.
Ylang Ylang
She tugs on your heartstrings, reminding you that LOVE IS ALL THERE IS.
Reader Additions to our Aromatherapy Aresenal
In the last issue, I invited readers to submit essences that were "must haves" for them that were not included on my basic list. Thank you to those who responded...here are their suggested additions to our Aresenal!
"Juniper Berry is an amazing gift for the nervous system. I think of Juniper as cleansing and an excellent essence for the treatment of candida. Rosalina is another I would not be without! I think of her as a great anti-fungal and good for cuts."
--
Ellen L. (NM)
"One essence that I love to use is Lemon. She always brightens my day and lifts my spirit. She is sunshine for my soul!"
--
Hannah (CA)
"Myrtle is not one of the most popular essences that modern-day people think of when they think of the essences, but it is a very ancient one that has a kind and gentle spirit and a powerful healing action. I use it for many things, but it is absolutely wonderful for poison ivy. I am highly allergic, and before I discovered Myrtle, I would inevitably end up in the doctor's office with my poison ivy, because my efforts to control it with the over the counter medications were fruitless."
-- Christina (PA)
"Tangerine is an oil that jumps up for a lot of my clinets. I think that most of us have archaic, repressed anger of some kind that is blocking our ability to receive. Tangerine really clears the auric field and allows for better integration of the treatment."
--
Suzanne (CO)
So, here you have it...several more essences that are indespensible to these readers. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts about these essences and their healing powers with us!
Announcing: The "Grab & Go" Massage AromaBag
I doubt I am the only one who loves to have my massage therapist use my essential oils during the treatment. Usually, I am running out the door, grabbing whatever essences happen to be on my bedside table or the bathroom counter... because I did not select appropriate essences ahead of time!
It happened once too often, so I created a "Grab & Go" Massage AromaBag. It holds up to 10 standard sized bottles (5 or 15 ml bottles), with essences specifically selected to support the health benefits of massage. And, it fits easily in a purse or briefcase!
Call (928-300-5090) or email me (shiningsunfarm@aol.com) for a flyer that describes the "Starter Set" (bag + Exotic Basil, Blood Red Orange, Euclayptus Mint, and Fine Lavender); the "Balanced Set" (bag + essences above + Peppermint (US), Black Spruce and Cypress); and the "Complete Set" (bag + essences above + Ylang Ylang, Cardamon Seed and Frankincense).
Prices for the sets start at $180.
The nylon bag (which comes in assorted solid colors), has an individual , see-through mesh holder for each oil; it can be purchased separately ($18.95), but you can enjoy a discount of 10% or more on the total cost if you wish to select one of the above sets.
Color shown: Lavender; also available, Midnight (Black), Cranberry, Sage Green, Spring Green and Grape
The "Grab & Go" Massage AromaBag makes a great gift to go along with a massage gift certificate or on its own!
'Til next time...here's hoping you have a safe, peaceful and loving Holiday Season, and a healthy, abundant New Year!
With love from the plants & trees...
